夏祭りにて何故か純白のネクタイ着用。
焼きそば、フランクフルト、かき氷を
ぶちまけたというストーリーを元に、
アートと言葉、概念に対する
私の問いかけです。

このネクタイは見る人によっては
アート、アートっぽく、アートか？
と見えるかもしれない。
いやいや、ただの汚れたネクタイでしょ、
こんなのアートでもなんでもない。

そもそもアートってなんなんですか？

「なんとなくそれっぽいものに
アートというラベリングをしたもの」

それがアートです。
所詮はアートです。
そう20歳の私は思っています。

For some reason, I wore a pure white tie to a summer festival.
Based on the story that I spilled yakisoba, frankfurters, and shaved ice all over it,
this work is my personal inquiry into art, language, and the concept of “art” itself.

Depending on the viewer, this tie might appear as
art, something art-like, or perhaps art at all.
Or maybe not — maybe it’s simply a dirty tie, nothing more.

So what is art, anyway?

“Something that has been labeled as art because it somehow seems like it.”
That, perhaps, is art.
After all, it is only art.

That’s what I, at twenty years old, think.
